AKRPT Repeater Product

Network-wide Carrier Ethernet Service Delivery
Traditionally, Ethernet services were only available to customers with fiber.  However, by using the AKRPTCarrier Ethernet Repeater to extend the already impressive rate and reach of the AK355 55 Mbps product from 12 Kft/3.66 Km out to 30 Kft/9.1 Km and the AK500 25 Mpbs bonded copper product from 12 Kft/3.66 Km out to 24 Kft/7.3 Km, providers can now offer Carrier Ethernet services to customers throughout their networks using existing copper.

New Level of Reliability
The AKRPT utilizes the same MIMO on DMT technology as all other products in the Aktino product portfolio. This means that like all other Aktino products, it was designed to dynamically compensate for individual copper failures.  If a copper pair failes, the AKRPT automatically adjusts the other pair margins to compensate for the loss. This feature allows any pair to protect all the pairs in a bonded group.

Line Powered
The AKRPT is a line powered, which enables it to be deployed in any field cabinet or remote location without requiring a local power source.

Compliant with Industry Standards
The AKRPT is a standards-based product that provides superior performance and reliability compared to any other multi-pair bonded copper products on the market. Along with meeting copper loop standards such as ANSI T1.417, which enables the Carrier Ethernet services delivered by the AKRPT to co-exist with other services in a binder, the product is fully compliant with ITU G.998.2 and NIPP T1.427.02 Ethernet-based Multi-pair Bonding (based on IEEE 802.3ah EFM) and IEEE 802.1 and 802.3 LAN protocol standards.

Typical Applications

  • 5-100 Mbps Carrier Ethernet Services
  • IP DSLAM Backhaul
