AK555 Carrier Ethernet Platform

Up to 100 Mbps over Bonded Copper
The Aktino AK555 product enables the point-to-point transport of up to 100 Mbps Carrier Ethernet Service over bonded copper pairs. It bonds 2 to 16 pairs creating a symmetric or asymmetric high-bandwidth link capable of delivering up to 100 Mbps out to 12 Kft/3.7 Km, making it ideal for Carrier Ethernet service delivery and backhaul applications. The AK555 is also environmentally hardened and can be either line or locally powered.

The Industry's Only Asymmetric Bandwidth Feature
Unlike other bonded copper-based broadband systems, Aktino's AK555 utilizes Aktino's MIMO on DMT technology, which makes the industry's only asymmetric bandwidth feature possible. Asymmetric bandwidth is enabled via a software command and allows service providers to dictate how much bandwidth is allocated to downstream vs. upstream traffic - an essential tool for ensuring precious bandwidth is used as efficiently as possible.

Unparalleled Reach, Reliability & Spectral Compatibility
MIMO on DMT technology is the foundation of Aktino's unparalleled reach, reliability and spectral compatibility. In many applications reaches well beyond 12 Kft can be achieved, while still achieving fiber-like reliability. Additionally, the AK555 can deliver services that co-exist with services like ADSL, HDSL, etc. that reside in the same binder groups. The AK555 is T1.417 spectrally compliant at bit rates and reaches that current copper technologies cannot meet. It is also compliant with Metro Ethernet Forum standards 9 and 14 (MEF9/MEF14).
