Up to 100 Mbps over Bonded Copper
The Aktino AK355 product enables the point-to-point transport of DS3 and Fractional DS3 (Channelized, ATM and Clear-Channel) as well as 100 Mbps Carrier Ethernet Service over bonded copper pairs. It bonds together 2 to 16 copper pairs creating a symmetric or asymmetric high-bandwidth link capable of delivering up to 100 Mbps out to 12 Kft/3.7 Km or 45 Mbps out to 17 Kft/5.2 Km, making it the ideal solution for Carrier Ethernet service delivery and backhaul applications. The AK355 is also environmentally hardened and can be either line or locally powered.


Aktino Flex Function Makes DS3 or Carrier Ethernet Possible
The AK355 products consist of Central Office and Remote 1RU high units for 19" and 23" racks or for wall mounting.  They contain Aktino's signature Aktino Flex functionality, which makes it possible for the AK355 to be configured as either a DS3 or a 100 Mbps Carrier Ethernet product.  This powerful combination of capabilities make it the perfect product to support service provider network migration strategies. 


The Industry's Only Asymmetric Bandwidth Feature
Unlike other bonded copper-based broadband systems, Aktino's AK355 utilizes Aktino's MIMO on DMT technology, which makes the industry's only asymmetric bandwidth feature possible. Asymmetric bandwidth is enabled via a software command and allows service providers to dictate how much bandwidth is allocated to downstream vs. upstream traffic -an essential tool for ensuring precious bandwidth is used as efficiently as possible.  

Unparalleled Reach, Reliability & Spectral Compatibility
MIMO on DMT technology is the foundation of Aktino's unparalleled reach, reliability and spectral compatibility. In many applications reaches of 17 Kft can be achieved, while still achieving fiber-like reliability. Additionally, the AK355 can deliver services that co-exist with services like ADSL, HDSL, etc. that reside in the same binder groups. The AK355 is T1.417 spectrally compliant at bit rates and reaches that current copper technologies cannot meet. It also meets all DS3 standards and is Metro Ethernet Forum compliant.
