Rick DeGabrielle
Aktino Chairman of the Board
A seasoned telecommunications executive, Rick DeGabrielle brings more than 25 years of experience and strong leadership to the Aktino board of directors. Most recently as CEO of Arroyo Video Solutions Inc., Rick led Arroyo through product introduction and market expansion before it was acquired by Cisco. Prior to Arroyo, Rick served as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Catena Networks, Inc., a telecom systems manufacturer. In this role, he led all sales and business development activities globally and led Catena's revenue growth to $100 million/yr, including sales to all four RBOC companies. He played a vital role in the sale of Catena to Ciena for $460 million. Prior to joining Catena, Rick was Vice President of Sales at AccessLAN, where he instrumental in fundraising, defining their first product and securing the first customer trials. Rick also served as Regional Vice President of Sales for Cascade Communications, a venture funded telecom systems company. While with Cascade, his team opened new accounts such as Pacific Bell (ATT) and US West (Qwest), and grew annual regional revenues to $140 million while contributing to Cascade's IPO and its ultimate purchase by Ascend Communications for $3.7 billion in 1997. Rick holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing and an MBA from California State University Long Beach.

Bob Hoff
General Partner, CrossPoint Ventures
Bob Hoff is a general partner in CrossPoint's Southern California office. CrossPoint is an early stage venture fund with over $1 billion of committed capital that focuses on vertical service providers, network-based service businesses, and broadband infrastructure. In 1983, Bob established the Southern California office for CrossPoint and extended coverage to the Southwest. Since that time, Bob has been involved as first round investor and Board member in a number of successful companies, including Com21, Efficient Networks, iPivot, PairGain Technologies, STAC and USWeb/CKS. Bob also served as a Director of the National Venture Capital Association from 1996 to 1999. Bob is a graduate of Bucknell University, and holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.

Bruce Hallett
Partner, Miramar Ventures
Bruce Hallett brings deal development, company-building and strategic management expertise to Miramar and its portfolio companies. Bruce has served on the boards of directors of public and private companies with partners from top tier venture funds and prominent corporate investors. Currently, he serves on the boards of the following Miramar portfolio companies: Aktino, HyperQuality and Practice Technologies. He also served on the board of Berkana Wireless, which was acquired in late 2005 by Qualcomm. Prior to founding Miramar in 2001, Bruce served as a corporate finance strategist and lead counsel to high growth technology companies, venture capitalists and investment banks, Bruce orchestrated initial public offerings, venture financings and liquidity events for many high profile technology companies in Southern California, including Broadcom, Buy.com, Exult and PairGain Technologies. In 1999, Bruce was recognized as one of Southern California's leading technology lawyers and was selected by members of the California State Bar as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in California. Until he left to form Miramar, Bruce served as Managing Partner of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison's Orange County Office and was appointed to the firm's Executive Committee. Bruce also served as one of three partners on Brobeck's investment committee, which was responsible for investing and managing Brobeck's captive venture funds. Bruce joined Brobeck as a partner in early 1993 from Morrison & Foerster, where he was a partner in Morrison's emerging companies practice. Bruce received his B.A. magna cum laude from UC Irvine and his J.D. from UCLA.

Rick Gold
Rick Gold joined InnoCal in 2004 after 29 years as an entrepreneur and executive in the semiconductor and wireless communications industries. He was previously co-founder and chairman of Radia Communications, an InnoCal portfolio company; CEO of Pacific Monolithics, Genoa and Nova Crystals; co-founder and VP/GM of Adams-Russell Semiconductors, and co-founder and VP Sales of International Microsystems. He began his career as an engineer with Hewlett-Packard. He received a BS in engineering physics from Cornell University, an MBA from Northeastern University and a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He was honored as 2002 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. Rick currently represents InnoCal on the board of Mojix and Vativ Technologies, and serves as chairman of CalAmp Corp. (NASDAQ:CAMP). He previously served on the boards of Massana, Nucentrix Broadband Networks and the Wireless Communications Association.

Michael Segrest
General Partner, Silver Creek Ventures
Since joining the firm in 1991, Mr. Segrest has actively worked with over twenty-five portfolio companies at Silver Creek Ventures, helping them realize their goals and becoming successful startup companies.  As a general partner for the Firm, Mr. Segrest has focused his investment activities on information technologies, particularly in the areas of security, networking, and service.  Current board seats for Mr. Segrest include Aktino, Inc. and Hammerhead Systems.  Prior to Silver Creek, Mr. Segrest served as Principal for a merchant banking firm specializing in the communications industries.  Mr. Segrest received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in the ERB program (Electrical Engineering option) and his MBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.

Howard Flagg
Telecommunications Industry Veteran
Howard Flagg was on the founding team of PairGain Technologies in 1988. PairGain became the first major supplier of DSL equipment to the local telephone companies. At PairGain, Howard served on the Board of Directors and at various times as Vice President of Product Development, Vice President of Business Development, President and CEO. Howard left PairGain in 2001 after its sale to ADC Telecommunications. Prior to 1988, Howard was Vice President of R&D at Advanced Telecommunications, a supplier of telemetry processing and custom communications systems in the aerospace industry. Howard is currently a Trustee at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Howard holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.

Lonnie Martin
President and Chief Executive Officer, Aktino
Lonnie Martin has been a serial entrepreneur for 30+ years in the Telecom sector.  He has been President/CEO of three venture capital-backed companies in Silicon Valley and Dallas (White Rock Networks, Broadband Telesystems and Coastcom)  and he has reported to the CEO of two large multi-national companies (ADC and Ascom/Timplex).  A key part of Martin's responsibility at ADC, where he was President of ADCs Business Broadband Group, was ownership for ADC's copper loop transport business, which at the time held the #2 market share position. Most recently, Martin was Founder/CEO of White Rock Networks, a manufacturer of carrier-class metro optical transport equipment.  White Rock was sold to Turin Networks in late 2006. Martin has been a board member of several public and private companies and for several years was Chairman of Dallas' Metroplex Technology Business Council.  Martin received BS and MS degrees from Caltech and an MBA from Harvard.

Ben Itri
Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder, Aktino
Ben Itri has spent over 20 years developing communication systems and technology. In 1988, Ben was a founding member of PairGain Technologies, Inc. As Vice President of PairGain Engineering, Ben managed a team that developed the first integrated HDSL solution, launched in 1992. After a successful public offering in 1993, Ben served on PairGain's Board of Directors while remaining as their CTO, and was responsible for the technology roadmap and management of PairGain's microelectronics group. In 2000, PairGain's microelectronics group was sold to GlobeSpan Virata for which Ben established a design center in Irvine, California. Ben holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
